Internet Scams, Ensure You Are Not Scammed

While our global economy is still in deep waters, and a lot of people are desperate for money. Now, even more that ever, there are a lot of work at home online scam artists out there willing and waiting to take your money. With everybody’s money tight and more and more people looking for work from home online business, more people are looking towards the Internet. It is more important now, more than ever, to stay ahead of scam artists and ensure that you are not caught in a work from home online business scam.

Most of these scams have been around for years and the problem is that people keep on falling for these work at home scams. This is the main reason they do not go away. The only change the scam artists do is to try a new approach or give the work from home online business scam a new name.

Below I have listed some of the most common work from home scams:

Chain letters:
These usually involve sending a small amount of money to a number of people and then moving each name down the list and putting yours there. These types of letters and emails are illegal in most countries and you should never get involved in this type of activity. You also often make a lot of personal details available to people if you participate in these and it could more easily cause you to become a victim where your personal info is abused.

Email Processing:
Usually this type of scam requires a fee for “training materials” which you have to pay for before you get the info. You are told that you will get these materials and then get paid for each email “processed”. The scam artists usually indicate some crazy high number that you would get paid, like $2000. When you see numbers like this its time to move away as it’s not possible. The scam artists are only after your money for the so called “training materials”.

Phishing Scams:
These are the type of scams where people are trying to steal your personal information. They are usually after your bank information so they can steal your money. These types of scams are normally emails that come in all kinds of different ways. The emails can seem to be coming from your bank, eBay, PayPal, etc. They will ask you to click on a link and submit a form which will “look” just like you’re on a site where your account really is but its not. It’s a false site and an attempt to steal vital bank information. You should never click on any links in these types of emails.

Envelope stuffing:
This nline/offline scam is still and always will be a scam. It takes on many different forms and you will see it in the back of work from home opportunity magazines or on the internet. Note, there is no such thing as stuffing envelopes.

While looking for your perfect Work From Home Online Business opportunity you must always remember that there are a lot of desperate people out there and the old saying always rings true. “If it sounds to be good to be true, it usually is…” Be careful and use some common sense when searching for your dream work from home job.
