The thing that determines the best hotels apart so they “recover” when things go wrong.

In most cases, they genuinely want to correct the situation. You can argue that the hotel market as a competitive and expensive as London, they simply have no choice. So if you have a genuine complaint about staying in a London hotel, please always come forward and inform the hotel!
