What is Facebook FarmVille Zynga?

It’s an online game, played by over 70 million members of Facebook, which allows participants to maintain their own virtual farm. Players may plant trees, grow virtual crop, harvest flowers, and take care of their livestock. The ultimate goal is to build better farms and earn prestige in the farming community.

Although, I just recently started playing FarmVille, my research shows me that it’s the most popular application in Facebook history. Who knew that so many people had a secret desire to become farmers?

Another attraction of FarmVille is that it touches the Humanitarian side of folks. By this I mean that you can be a “Good Samaritan” and help your neighbors or friends by giving gifts of trees and livestock. You can also celebrate someone else’s achievements of earning ribbons. Earning ribbons are crucial because FarmVille rewards you with virtual money.

My impression of the Facebook FarmVille game is that it motivates you to develop and utilize your people skills. It challenges the mind, relieves boredom, and provides yet another avenue of interacting with friends and family. Plus it’s just plain fun!

The top 5 things I’ve learned from reviewing the Facebook FarmVille game are:

The Crunchies Award. Facebook FarmVille Zynga received the prestigious Crunchies Award. This was presented to FarmVille for being the best social application of 2009. The FarmVille folks didn’t hoard this award or forget about those who helped them achieve this honor. Instead they shared the wealth with the millions of people who play FarmVille. Each player received a virtual Crunchie Award statue in their gift box.

I would be remiss if I failed to mention that Facebook won the Crunchie Award for the category of Best Overall Startup or Product for 2009. Facebook is the largest social network and has over 350 million users.

Zynga’s Relief Fund for Haiti. FarmVille found an easy way for the FarmVille players to contribute funds to the Haiti’s disaster. When a farmer buys White Corn 100% of the proceeds go to the Haiti Relief Fund. This contribution is sent directly to those suffering from the Haiti earthquake.

FarmVille Forum. There’s plenty of support in the Zynga Community Forum. If you run into an obstacle and require someone else’s expertise at solving the problem, there’s lots of resources. The Forum Moderators, Zynga Staff Members, and other FarmVille farmers are glad to pitch in and provide advice.

Youtube Videos. You could peruse youtube.com for videos about FarmVille. I found one which I feel provides great information. It’s called “Do You FarmVille? Addictive Social Facebook Flash Game” This video was created by Duncan Maile or “DuncanM.” Duncan also followed up with more detailed instructions on his website. Just click here to view Duncan’s site: Duncan’s farmville-tips-to-level-up quickly.

E-Books. There’s also a plethora of ebooks with tips and secrets for FarmVille lovers. One that I sell is the Official FarmVille guide called“How to Become a FarmVille Expert. “ It has up to date tips and tricks for teaching you to become a FarmVille superstart. I’m an Affiliate which means I do receive commissions when someone buys this guide from me.

There is a down side to FarmVille. Not everyone wants to play the game. In fact some Facebook members get quite annoyed when the FarmVille updates over shadow their Live News Feeds. For those who find themselves in this category help is on the way. You have the option to prevent FarmVille updates to your Live News Feed or “Hide” them.

If you want to prevent Facebook FarmVille Zynga applications, click on “Settings”, then“Application Settings.” After clicking here you should see FarmVille. Click on “Edit Settings” followed by the “Additional Permissions” tab. Remove the checkmark from the box. Going forward all of the FarmVille farmers will no longer touch your Facebook real estate…so to speak.

Alternatively, you may wait until a FarmVille update appears in your Live News Feed. At that time, simply click on the “Hide” tab that’s located on the top right side of your friend’s comments. By following these instructions you will have successfully prevented further FarmVille updates.

Facebook FarmVille Zynga can be lots of fun. Over 70 million people find it fascinating and I recommend it too. It’s not for everyone, but why not give it a try and make the decision for yourself.

Are you a Blogger, Testimonial Writer, Celebrity Endorser, or Advertiser? If so, the FTC could be targeting you.

We recently were made aware that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) revised Guides are more strict and could have a negative impact on people who endorse products or services in exchange for a monetary reward or other type of incentive.

The FTC is a watch dog for people who are considering purchasing or have purchased products or services. It’s their job to keep unscrupulous people from making false promises about items or services they are selling, promoting or endorsing in ads, blogs, commercials, or testimonials.

Effective December 1st, any gifts or money received in exchange for writing testimonials or endorsing products, must be properly disclosed. Also, when making endorsements, you must reveal your connection, if any, to the seller of that product or service.

Caroline McCarthy, author of the Blog called “the social,” gave a great example of one of the ways an unsuspecting celebrity or high profile person could unwittingly violate the revised FTC’s Guides by using Facebook’s Fan Page. Her article is titled “Yes, new FTC guidelines extend to Facebook fan pages.”

Following is an excerpt of Caroline McCarthy’s article, dated October 5, 2009:

“Prominent users of Twitter and Facebook won’t be exempt from controversial new Federal Trade Commission guidelines that keep tabs on blogger freebies and giveaways, according to Richard Cleland, associate director for the FTC’s advertising division. The agency absolutely plans to keep tabs on social networks as well as blogs in accordance with revised regulations that could see violators fined up to $11,000, he said.

Here’s a sample scenario: a celebrity or other prominent figure with loads of friends on Facebook receives free hotel says from Hotel Chain X in exchange for running Hotel Chain X ads on his or her blog. If that person then signs up as a Facebook fan of Hotel Chain X–which, remember, could mean that the person’s name can show up for his or her Facebook friends alongside Hotel Chain X display ads on the social network–he or she could be held liable by the FTC.”

Caroline McCarthy’s article may help bloggers get a better understanding of the Federal Trade Commission’s revised Guidelines. I recommend interested parties take a few moments to read it in it’s entirety.

The FTC’s revised Guides also go as far as to indicate that they will no longer tolerate or allow the well used phrase “results not typical.” This phrase was seen quite frequently, in small print, at the bottom of a Sales Page.

The same applies to companies who use the results from research to prove that their products work. If that particular company has a relationship with the research organization, that info must also be disclosed to the public.

You may read the actual revised Guides issued by The Federal Trade Commission at their website. http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2009/10/endortest.shtm.

Want more information? Joel Comm, author of “Twitter Power,” and Atty Kevin Houchin are conducting a webinar on Monday, November 9th to review how these changes will impact your business.

Joel and Kevin will also provide advice on the necessary steps to take in order to be compliant with the new guidelines. Obtain the link from “Friends of Joel Comm” on Facebook.

Don’t be the one to get slapped with a fine! Take the time to educate yourself on FTC’s revised guidelines, as well as preventative measures that will help keep your hard earned dollars in your pocket.

Oh, and by the way, I’m not associated with Caroline McCarthy, Joel Comm, nor Atty. Kevin Houchin. No compensation or freebies are being received for mentioning them in my article. (I have read “Twitter Power” by Joel Comm, which I also recommend.)

Hey guys, have you heard about “My World Plus?” It’s all about helping the common folk save money in this tough economy. And it’s so easy. All anyone has to do is just shop online or use their membership discount card, or coupons when going to a movie, traveling, buying fast food or groceries.

This isn’t like most offers you see online where the promoter just wants to line their pockets with your hard earned cash. In fact, I recommend that you only spend money on the items you would normally buy, just remember to use your coupon or discount card.

If you enjoy shopping at stores, such as Target, PetSmart, Gap, Starbucks, AMC Theaters, Lowes, and hundreds of others, you owe it to yourself to check this out. There’s over 600 online stores and over 175,000 retailers worldwide in which to choose.

Are you a little short on funds? Is there too much month left at the end of the money? In addition to shopping discounts, MyWorldPlus also provides an opportunity to earn money from home. Soon your bank account will have a positive cash flow again.

The best part is you can watch your income explode quickly. Don’t take my word for it. Research it at here or watch my short video.

Try it out, take it for a test drive and kick the tires. If it looks like something that would benefit you and your family, go for it. You don’t have to join today, but if you do you can start saving money immediately.

Those who wait may end up making money for you because they hesitated. Just think of all of those people who had the opportunity to be in on the ground floor of Google, Yahoo or Microsoft, but failed to see the big picture.

Well, you can’t change history, but you are in control of the here and now. Earning cash rebates by simply shopping online at MyWorldPlus can relieve your financial stress, help you put your kids through college, take extra vacations, or simply put food on the table.

If you have ever bought or thought about buying travel, flowers, electronics, sporting events, gift baskets, clothing, Christmas presents or birthday gifts online, why not do it thru MyWorldPlus and watch your income explode quickly.

Beginning your Goal Setting Plan

The first step in setting personal goals is to consider what you want to achieve in your lifetime, as setting lifetime goals that gives you the overall perspective that shapes all other aspects of your decision making process.

To help give you a broad, and balanced coverage of all important areas in your life, try to set goals in some or all of the following categories:

• Artistic:
Do you want to achieve any artistic goals? If so, what is it? Do you want to write a book; paint a masterpiece, or write a song?

• Attitude:
Does your own mindset hold you back from making progress? Is there any part of the way that you behave that upsets you for example, do you talk too much? If so, set a goal to improve your behavior or find a solution to the problem.

• Career:
What level do you want to reach in your career? Is it your goal to be the boss or own your own company someday, or do you want to be the president of someone else’s company?

• Education:
Is there any knowledge you want to acquire in particular or some area of study that you would like to pursue? What information and skills will you need to achieve these goals?

• Family:
Do you want to be a parent? If so, how are you going to be a good parent? How do you want your partner or family members to see you?

• Financial:
How much do you want to earn by what age in your life? What can you do to make that come about?

• Physical:
Are there any athletic goals you want to achieve, or do you want good health deep into old age? What steps are you going to take to achieve this?

• Pleasure:
How do you want to enjoy yourself? You should ensure that some of your life is geared toward making yourself happy for no reason other than being happy.

• Service:
Do you want to make the world a better place by your existence? If so, how?

How to begin to achieve your Goals

Once you have decided your goals in these categories, you have to assign a priority to them if you want to succeed.

Then review the goals and re-prioritize until you are satisfied that they reflect the shape of the life that you want to lead.

Also, you should ensure that the goals that you have set are the goals that you want to achieve, and not what your parents, spouse, family, or employers want them to be.

Success only happens when you are working for your own well being because doing it for others will ensure that you sabotage your own success.

Once you have set your lifetime goals, the best thing that you can do is set a 25 year plan of smaller goals that you should complete if you are to reach your lifetime plan.

From there you can just shorten your overall goal spans for example, you set a 5 year plan, 1 year plan, 6 month plan, and 1 month plan of progressively smaller goals that you should reach to achieve your lifetime goals.

Each of these should be based on the previous plan. It is the best way to begin to achieve a lifetime that is filled with and results in a life without any failed wishes. It results in a life without regret.

You see, by starting out slowly, you are giving yourself the chance to realize and work on achieving the goals that you set out to.

Nobody ever succeeds at attaining a goal that was forced through. Those that tried never really got what they were hoping for. In rushing through and trying to achieve your goals quickly you will likely miss a few key aspects that can really change your outcome.

Think of it this way; if you were to run a 10K marathon and decided to take a cab for half of the journey; have you really achieved that goal? Would you be satisfied when you crossed the finish line?

It would be a hollow victory that could only provide a moment’s happiness.

Finally set a daily to do list of the things that you should do today to work towards your lifetime goals.

At an early stage these goals may be to read books and gather information on the achievement of your goals. This will help you to improve the quality and realism of your goal setting and in effect; make it easier to achieve them.

You also have to review your plans, and make sure that they fit the way in which you want to live your life.

Once you have decided what your first set of plans will be, keep the process going by reviewing and updating your to-do list on a daily basis.

You have to periodically review the longer term plans, and change them to reflect your changing priorities and experiences in your life.

To your Success, may you reach your goals.

A Millionaire’s Secret

Washington DC was nasty as could be. As I sat on the bench waiting for my bus to arrive I couldn’t wait to get back to the backwoods of Louisiana. I had almost sat in a pool of blood that was on the far end of the bench and I was ready to go. I truly hope people coming to visit our country don’t make DC one of their stops.

Anyway, before my bus arrived I was approached by a nicely dressed elderly gentleman in need of directions. I told him I had no idea what he was looking for as I too was just passing through. To this day I’m not sure why, but we started talking as if we had known each other for years.

We talked about life, people and eventually the conversation turned to business. It was here that the gentlemen saw something in me, I suppose, that made him feel like sharing what he said was the greatest secret ever told. He said everyone had heard it but almost no one paid any attention to it, even though it was the one thing that could bestow a fortune upon any man or woman who used it.

My ears where definitely starting to perk up. Something about his tone told me this man knew from whereof he spoke. And I wanted to know what the secret was with a passion. He must have sensed my anxiousness because at that very moment he gave me a warning that was almost a scolding.

I’ll try to recount here as best I can the rest of our conversation…

Man: “Do not make the mistake of shrugging off what I am about to tell you because you have heard it before. No doubt you have heard it already from at least one person in your life. You may have even heard it many times. Do you have any aversion to religion Mr. Says?”

Me: “No I don’t. I don’t believe many preachers know what they are talking about or even what they are trying to teach, but I do know the Bible has a lot of great knowledge in it.”

Man: “Good. I would not want you to discount what I am about to tell you because it does come directly from the Bible. But its applications reach far beyond what most people can conceive of. It will take thought, intense pondering on your part, to begin to get some inkling of its power.”

“This simple secret, when applied to business, will draw money to you as easily as water runs down a mountain. Even a fool can apply it and prosper. When applied to relationships, it will create more friends than you can handle” (laughing heartily)

Me: “What is it, I’m dying to know now?”

Man: “Patience Mr. Says, Patience. I will not give it to you as it has always been repeated by fools who have no respect or knowledge of what it even means. No. I will give it to you another way.”

“What type of business are you interested in?”

Me: “Well, I’m dabbling in Mail Order right now. I would like to place ads and sell books.”

Man: “Fine. Fine. Mail Order it is. Let me tell you how to create a fortune in this Mail Order. All you have to do is create the product you want to buy”

Me: “I don’t understand”

Man: “You will”

“You see, you are your market. Whatever you want, there are millions of other people wanting the same thing. That elusive product you are looking for is the product millions of others are also looking for right now.”

“All you have to do is create the product you want to buy, the product you yourself have been looking for. Once you have this product, what would you want the sales message to say so that you know this is the product you have been looking for?”

“If someone else where selling this product, what would you want the ad to say, what would get you to buy this product?. When you have that answer, that is the ad you want to create.”

Me: “I see” (hesitantly)

Man: “See the business across the street here? Pizza. I could triple the business that place does inside of 10 minutes. That’s what I do by the way” (smiling)

“All I would do is walk into the business as a customer. I would sit there and imagine all the things that could be done to me that would make me a loyal customer to that business for life. What could they do for me that would make me feel this way?”

“Once I had the answers to that question, I would implement them across the board. Every customer would be treated the way I had imagined. And without any doubt what so ever that business would triple the profits it now makes.”

Me: “I think I know…”

Man: “Wait, you don’t really know anything yet. That’s the problem with people. They brush something off because of where it came from or because they heard it many times. Leave that for fools. You won’t “know it” until you have deeply pondered it and put it to use.”

Me: “Ok”

Man: “What I am telling you has power undreamed of. The simple words used to describe it cannot contain it. Does not do justice to it, and has been prostituted by blabber mouths who let wisdom fall off their lips with not even a single brain cell grasping what they are rambling about.”

“What I am telling you is Law, not man’s Law, but the very Law’s of nature herself. It’s the way things work and those who truly understand it rise to the top in every field known to man.”

“What people don’t understand is that it applies to everything. This secret can be applied with virtually every step you take, everything you do, every word you speak and everyone concerned profits by it.”

“If you are a writer, write like you would like to be written to”

“If you are a salesman, sell like you would like to be sold to”

“If you are a speaker, speak like you would like to be spoken to”

“If you want more love, then love like you would like to be loved”

“If you want more friends, be the friend you would like to see”

“When you infuse everything you do with this secret it takes on a magical power. Businesses dominate the market, books become best sellers, leaders attract huge and loyal followings.”

“How would you like it?”
“How would you respond to it?”
“How would it make you feel?”

“Those are great questions to think about every time you do or create something. You will get into the hearts and minds of everyone who comes under your influence if you will first think how you would have it done to you.”

“I’m certain you already know the quote from the Bible I’m referring to. But don’t repeat it, just ponder it and pratice it.”

Me: “I do. But I’ve never thought of how it could actually apply to everything in life. I too was one of those fools who passed it over without so much as a second thought. I really want to thank you for sharing this with me.”

Man: “It’s been a real pleasure talking with you Mr. Says, have a safe journey home.”

———–

And with that, he was gone. The funny thing was, as I was riding home on the bus I realized I never got his name, nor do I remember ever giving him mine. Maybe he saw my luggage tag. I’m not sure. It really doesn’t matter. What does matter is that I’ve profited from that advice for the last 15 years.

I’m not even really any good at it either and I’ve still pulled in huge amounts of money. Especially from the Internet. This is one place this knowledge can really shine. People have always asked me my secret. How come the Warriors is still here, with the same products, with all this competition, after all these years?

This one simple secret is the answer. I always ask myself how would I like to be treated by this company? What would I like to see? What would I like to get? How would I like to be dealt with?

Those simple questions are all you have to answer. When you do get the answers, put them into action and watch what happens.

Do you have a dream today?

Can you see yourself in one year, three years, ten years? Can you describe the house you will live in? The clothes you will wear? The routine you will follow every day?

Far from some pie-in-the-sky hype, dreams are the real currency of the Internet.

Many reading these words dream of quitting their job and working at home. Some dream of having a home of their own. Some don’t dream any more.

No matter where you stand today please consider the following.

My friend, your dream is your map. Without it how will you know where you are going?

Recent events have driven home the fact that life is short indeed. Too short to spend it working at a job we don’t love.

Listen to these words by Brian Tracy …

All successful men and women are big dreamers. They imagine what their future could be, ideal in every respect, and then they work every day toward their distant vision, that goal or purpose. – Brian Tracy

If you were my brother or sister, this is what I would say to you.

You must have a dream to make a dream come true. And you must never surrender your dream.

If you are like most people you will spend more time working than doing any other activity. Yet, many today don’t like their work.

So the question becomes this. Can you do what you love for a living? Can you find the joy that comes when you WANT to go to work?

To that question I answer YES … you can. I can say that because it’s happening to me.

I don’t usually write something this personal, but please allow me to share with you the five steps I used to make my dream come true on the Internet. And let me encourage you to take these steps in your life today. Time is fleeting. Begin now.

1. Realize that the Internet really has changed things. Jobs exist today that didn’t five years ago. The thing that got me started on the Internet, that helped me create my dream, was a book called ‘Finding Your Perfect Work’.

That book helped me realize that I could create *any* situation I wanted on the Internet. The Net is still new territory. To a great degree, if you can dream it you can do it.

2. Know yourself. What do you REALLY want? Spend some time with yourself and ‘wave the magic wand’. If you could do anything, if money wasn’t a factor, what would you do? Keep asking until you find an answer.

3. Research your answers. You will be shocked to discover the career possibilities online. Pick your favorite search engine, start a bookmark folder just for this, and find everything you can about your passion.

4. Ask for help. Once you have zeroed in on what you want, find someone who excels at it and learn at their feet. Be prepared to get turned down a few times from people who are too busy or uncaring. But never quit. You *will* find the mentor you need if you try.

5. Be willing to start small. You may only be able to commit a few hours at night to your new field because you have to feed the family. That’s OK. Time is your ally. And time will prove if your idea will work.

Careers like being a virtual assistant, a net researcher, or doing graphic art for e-Books exist today because of innovative thinkers who found their passion. Find your passion and you will create your opportunity.

Don’t stop until you find (or create) that type of work that both makes you happy and pays the bills. Who knows, YOU might be the innovator who creates the next online industry.

Winston Churchill said ‘The nose of the bulldog has been slanted backward so it can breathe without letting go.’

When it comes to our dreams we need to be like the bulldog. We must never surrender our dreams.

by Jack Humphrey
http://power-linking-profits.com

If you have been on the internet for awhile, you know that there are millions of people trying anything and everything to get your attention. They want in your wallet. It’s a great big money grab out there folks, and the net has become the biggest marketing arena on the planet, driving whole industries and generating Billions of dollars in sales.

So what’s the problem? Well, none if you are one of the small businesses with focus. A whole lot of problems if you lack focus.

There are myriad small business opportunities on the net today. And if you do your research and find something you want to associate with, or you create a product for a well-researched target market, you are well on your way to financial success. Or are you?

You see the more you become active on the net as either someone looking for the right opportunity, or as someone who has found the right opportunity already, the more you are bombarded with choices. Everyday you get emails saying that the next best thing since sliced bread has come along.

The new “thing” demands your attention and you get nervous that you might be missing out on another opportunity for financial success.

But don’t you already have one? At least, haven’t you been presented with several great opportunities in the last week? So why on earth take a serious look at yet another? Why fragment the time you need to spend on your current business with all the marketing it takes to get yet another off the ground and profitable?

What I am talking about here is something I call “Sign-up-Itis.” (Not to be confused with Sinusitis, which can be just as debilitating.)

It goes like this: You find your focus, you are fired up. All is good and you are ready to start working on the hundreds of little things you need to do to get traffic and make sales. You need to get good search engine positioning, you need a links campaign, you have to research ezines in your niche and place ads, you need to set up joint ventures, you need to create and update content on your site, set up a merchant account, a delivery system, and the list goes on from there.

Then you get an email from a friend or associate telling you that you HAVE to check out the latest and greatest. You do. It’s an awesome opportunity. You look at your plate and it’s already full with your current project, but the plate has a lot of things on it you really don’t enjoy doing. It’s a lot of work to make any business pay off, as you can see from the short list above.

“It’s Much More Fun To Think About Success Than It Is To Do The Work It Takes To Achieve It”

But this NEW thing is exciting, fresh, new. It draws you in and it’s MUCH more fun to think about success than it is to do the work it takes to achieve it, so you buy in. You get a ton of tools to start this new venture. It’s all overwhelming, especially since you have gone back to your first venture and realized you now have TWO great things that can both make you money, but they BOTH need your attention on a grand scale in order to see profit.

Now, here is the part where most people give up. They say to themselves “Internet marketing is nothing more than a series of steps that I cannot complete. I am always excited when I get started on something, but when it comes down to DOING what I start, it gets hard and doesn’t happen as fast as I would like it to.”

Let me make one thing clear right now: It is not the net’s fault for not providing us with real opportunity.

Opportunity abounds and is right there for us to snatch up and achieve success. Never let yourself fall into the trap of reasoning your way out of success. “It’s not for me.” “I can’t do this – it’s for people much better with computers and internet marketing than me.”

The problem lies with your focus and your fear of success. You must CHOOSE the opportunity you are passionate about, or create a product you stand behind and love, and then hunker down for the long-haul! Make yourself do everything you are taught to do to build your business and build it – all the way or not at all.

It should be no surprise the next time you get an email with the next best thing inside. You should say to yourself “That’s great! Another opportunity for someone has just been born! But I am busy with MY business and cannot take on another venture at this time.”

We Do It On Purpose

Lack of focus is sometimes a purposeful self-defeating tactic your subconscious uses to keep you from success. Success is NOT a destination. It’s a journey.

And that journey scares the hell out of 99% of normal, everyday people. So be it. It IS scary to think of radical life changes, even if they are for what you consider to be far better than your current situation!

But don’t let a lack of focus and your fear of success tear you away from your dreams. USE your fear and confront it, right now. Today.

Make hard decisions and stick to them, then begin the process of working on a focused, tight marketing campaign to make whatever venture you choose the venture that sets you free.

Wear electronic blinders. Keep lean and mean and only take on new responsibilities that will be good for your CURRENT business. Throw the rest in the trash.

We all know there are tons of opportunities out there. That is a fact. It’s time now to get the stars out of your eyes, choose your niche, your product, your affiliate program or your MLM, and get to work. Make a vow not to stop until you are where you want to be financially.

The question is not “Can you really make money online?” This has been proven time and again over the years by thousands of people, many of whom you read about all the time.

The question is “Do you really want to be one of those people, or are you stuck in a cycle of constantly sabotaging your success with a lack of focus?”

The cure for Sign-up-itis is focus and hard work. Success is something you decide to achieve one day. It’s that decision that is often the biggest hurdle any future success story has to conquer.

(C) Michael Rasmussen
All Rights Reserved
http://www.search-engines-revealed.com

Setting up a website is the very first step of an Internet marketing campaign, and the success or failure of your site depends greatly on how specifically you have defined your website goals. If you don’t know what you want your site to accomplish, it will most likely fail to accomplish anything. Without goals to guide you in developing and monitoring your website, all your site will be is an online announcement that you are in business.

If you expect your site to stimulate some form of action, whether it is visitors filling out a form so a representative can contact them, or purchasing a product, there are steps you can take to insure that your website is functioning at peak efficiency. One of the first indicators of how well your site is working for you is finding out the number of visitors in a given period of time. A good baseline measurement is a month in which you haven’t been doing any unusual offline promotional activities.

However, just because hoards of people have passed through your gates does not mean your site is successful. Usually, you want those visitors to actually do something there. It is equally important to monitor the number of visitors to your site who made a purchase. This figure is called the site conversion rate, and it is an essential element of the efficacy of your website. To find the site conversion rate, take the number of visitors per month and figure out the percentage of them that actually performed the action your site is set up for. For example, if you had 2,000 hits to your site, but only 25 of them purchased your product, your site conversion rate equals 1.25%. To get this figure, take your number of visitors and divide that figure by the number of visitors who made a purchase. Then divide that result by 100 (25 ÷ 2000 X 100).

If your website is set-up to get visitors to fill out a form, make sure to then figure out what the difference is between your site conversion rate and your sales conversion rate. This is because not everyone who fills out your form will actually become your customer. However, whether your site is set-up to sell a service or product, or to get the visitor to fill out a form, the site conversion rate will measure the success or failure of your website whenever you make changes to the site.

You may find that you need to implement some additional marketing strategies if you find that traffic to your site is extremely low. There are several effective methods to improve the flow of traffic to your website, particularly launching a search engine optimization campaign. This campaign is targeted at increasing your position in search engine results so that consumers can find your pages faster and easier. You can either research the steps you need to take to improve your search engine rankings, or employ a search engine optimization company to do the work for you. In either case, after your have improved your search engine positions, make sure you keep on top of them by regular monitoring and adjusting of your efforts to maintain high positions.

Another factor to examine is how easy it is for a visitor to your website to accomplish the action the site is set-up for. For example, if your goal is for the visitor to fill out a form, is this form easily accessible, or does the visitor have to go through four levels to get to it? If it’s too difficult to get to, the customer may just throw in the towel and move on to another site. Make sure your buttons are highly visible, and the path to your form or ordering page quickly accessible.

Finally, have a professional evaluate the copy on your website. The goal is, of course, to get your visitor to make a purchase or fill out your form. Website copy must be specifically geared to your online campaign and not just a cut and paste job from your company brochure. The right copy can make the difference between profit and loss in your online campaign.

http://www.pluginprofitsite.com/main-18762

Every morning as people wake up and make the commute to work, many dream of the day when they will finally work for themselves. Every time the boss lets someone know that they must give up their weekend plans for the good of the company, people contemplate the benefits of being the owner of their own business.

Are you one of these people?

If you are, it is important to ask yourself some very important questions before you make the uncertain leap into self-employment.

Many dream of the benefits of home business ownership, but few take into account the sacrifices that must be made to bring the dream to fruition. Please don’t make this mistake yourself.

You must approach home business ownership with your eyes wide open. Ask yourself the important questions, and more importantly, answer your own questions openly and honestly.

AN IMPORTANT CONSIDERATION

Are you the type of person who relishes every chance to gather around the water cooler for social interaction?

If so, then home business ownership may not be the right decision for you.

Instead, if you feel that you can be quite content sitting alone at your desk; speaking only to clients and really minding your own home business, then you might have what it takes to succeed as a home business entrepreneur.

If you feel at ease with your own company and don’t need a dozen coworkers milling around your desk, then you, too, could savor the freedoms that will allow you and your family, to live the lifestyle you know you want and deserve.

THE KEY TO HOME BUSINESS SUCCESS

Self-motivation is the key to success when you start a home-based business. You need to possess the ability to push yourself ahead. Your drive and determination will be reinforced with every new sale.

The level of success that you will achieve greatly depends on the time and effort you are willing to plow into your new home business. Your organization, planning and marketing skills, will all be put into practice when you embark on your liberating journey from employee, to being your own boss. In fact, you will be the wearer of many hats and gain a wealth of business experience along the way, when you finally make that commitment to work at home.

YOUR SUCCESS RESTS ENTIRELY UPON YOUR OWN SHOULDERS

You will now be the boss. Are you truly able to work independently? Do you have the drive; the tenacity, to persevere with your home based business? Will you be able to invest the necessary time to nurture it, to watch it grow and see it through, from germination to full, glorious bloom? When you’re the boss, you are responsible for the success of your home business, from A to Z, from disappointments to victory.

When you work at home, it will empower you to achieve many things you were unable to do when you were stuck working for that tyrant boss. Remember him? He’s the guy that wouldn’t let you take time off when your baby was sick…the same guy that called you in to work on Thanksgiving Day.

A home business means that you can take good care of your family and make money from home, simultaneously. You will have the best of both worlds! Just think–no more dirty laundry piling up–you can do it while you work. No more scurrying around at the last minute searching for a babysitter either. And no more worrying about getting fired; you’ll be the boss!

IN CONCLUSION…

Stay positive and focused on your home based business, even if, when sales aren’t up to par, you get occasional negative remarks or derogatory comments from people with stuffy, dead-end jobs. Ignore their cutting words and bear in mind that success is the best revenge! Keep your admirable, positive attitude at the forefront and show them what you’re made of!

—————————————————————–
